I shoot upscale, luxury homes as a real estate photographer. On my way to a shoot location one day, I was surprised to discover an abandoned shopping row near my neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. The property was ruined and outdated as if time had left it behind. I understand that a lot of commercial properties closed down during the Covid spread and the economy became stagnant. That day, I caught a glimpse of a beauty hidden in these abandoned buildings - a feeling of potential and even hope for their revival. I would like to grasp this hope even if it may seem like a distant reality from the current state.
